Frequently asked questions
Yes, a non-refundable $300 (or half of the booking, whichever is lower) booking fee is required to secure your wedding date. Once the booking fee is received, your date is secured - it's yours! Unfortunately, I can't hold a date without a booking fee. Please note, this deposit is non-refundable, and if you cancel with less than four weeks' notice, you’ll be liable for the full payment. The remaining balance will be invoiced 14 days prior to your booking and can be paid by bank transfer, card (with a 2.9% fee), or cash on the day. For any other makeup services, payment in advance or cash on the day is required.
Ideally, yes! A pre-wedding consultation gives us a chance to trial different looks and ensure you love the result. You might adore a look on a model but feel differently when it’s on your face. This session ensures that your wedding day runs smoothly, and I arrive knowing exactly what you want, so you can relax and enjoy your special day.
For bridal trials, plan for up to 2 hours. This time allows us to discuss your ideas, the style of your wedding, hair, dress, and any visual references you bring. We’ll also have time to experiment with different looks. We’ll discuss timings for your wedding day during the consultation to ensure everything runs smoothly.
For special occasion makeup, allow 45-75 minutes, dependent on skin type and desired look.
Bringing a picture of your wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, florals, or a makeup look you like can be helpful. Please arrive with a clean, bare face - no serums, primers, moisturisers, mascara, or eyeliner. If you prefer to use your own skincare, ensure your moisturiser has an SPF of no more than 15.
And if you can, bring a good mindset with you. Come in expecting to feel beautiful! Visualise a result you’re excited about, and I’ll do the rest.
First off, it'd be fantastic if you could have a dining or desk-height table ready for me to set up at. Ample natural light (north facing windows usually work best) is necessary for services to be performed to the highest standard. A power socket must also be available fairly close to the work area for both hair and makeup services.
If there is no available parking at the location, please let me know in advance so that other arrangements can be made.
I’m deeply committed to sustainability and cruelty-free practices. My makeup kit is entirely cruelty-free and transitioning to being fully sustainable. I also educate others about clean and eco-friendly choices, ensuring that beauty doesn’t come at the expense of our planet. Some of the makeup brands you will find in my professional kit are Aleph, Charlotte Tilbury, Ilia, Inika, Karen Murrell, Kester Black, Kosas, Milk & Tarte.
Yes, I am happy to travel within the central North Island, with my travel charged per kilometer at the IRD recommended rate. However, for locations outside this region, I would prefer to recommend a talented local makeup artist near you. While I prioritise sustainability by driving a hybrid vehicle and offsetting my travel emissions through 'Trees That Count,' I am committed to further reducing my carbon footprint by supporting talented makeup artists nationwide. Aotearoa boasts a wealth of skilled artists across the country, so I've curated a nationwide directory of makeup professionals.
